Based in Tbilisi, Georgia, Credo Bank is one of the leading microfinance institutions in the country. It has more than 2,500 employees with $6.3 million USD in sales. It supports over 300,000 customers through its 72 service centers in the Georgia. The bank offers a variety of innovative banking solutions to customers.
Credo Bank wanted to make it possible for its customers that use Apple products to make payments using their smartphones and other Apple devices effortlessly and securely wherever Mastercard is accepted.
What we proposed
Pri-Num proposed the launch of Apple Pay to Credo Bank. This contactless payments service has revolutionized the mobile payments industry with its exceptional security and fraud prevention technology.
How it worked
Apple Pay guarantees security of users’ payment information as no details are stored on Apple’s servers or shared with the merchant. When users add their Mastercard to the app, a 16-digit token is generated for every device. This token is then used to process transactions. Customers can make payments at any merchant that accepts Mastercard contactless payments. Since their cards are available through the app, they don’t need to carry the physical card with them. Once they bring their Apple smartwatch or smartphone near the payment terminal, they will receipt a prompt to authorize the transaction through the device passcode, Face ID or Touch ID. Pri-Num’s secure ITS platform has made it possible for Credo Bank customers to take advantage of the flexibility and security that Apple Pay provides.
Card networks’ support
Georgia is one of the leaders in its region when it comes to mobile payments. Over 95% of all transactions in the country are already conducted through contactless methods. Georgia was actually the first country in the South Caucasus region to launch Apple Pay.
Credo Bank customers no longer need to carry a Mastercard credit or debit card and indeed even a wallet when they’re out and about. They can easily make secure contactless payments using just Apple Pay on their Apple smartwatch or smartphone. Apple Pay can also be used to make secure payments online.
